One Pan Pork Chops with Apples
REQUIREMENTS
- 2 tsp Olive oil
- 1 tsp canna butter or canna-oil
- 2 pork chops
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 cup Chicken stock
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 onion, sliced thinly
- 1/2 tsp dried Thyme, or 1 tbsp fresh
- 1 medium Apple
DIRECTIONS
- Season both sides of pork chops with salt and pepper.
- Add 2 tsp olive oil to skillet, and heat over med-high heat.
- Add pork chops to pan, leaving at least an inch between the chops to ensure even cooking and browning.
- Sear 3-5 minutes per side, or until pork chops are almost done. Chops will continue to cook in sauce once prepared.
- Remove pork chops to a plate.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together chicken stock and mustard together and set aside. Chop up apples into slices. Set aside.
- Add remaining 1 tsp canna butter or canna-oil to the pan, then add apples and onions. Cook on med-low heat for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt, pepper and thyme. Stir.
- Pour in stock mixture, use a wooden spoon to gently scrape the bottom of the pan to release any brown bits (those have a lot of flavor!).
- Place pork chops back into pan in between the sliced apples.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until pork chops are done cooking and liquid has reduced by half.
